Be The Change You Wish To See In The World

Be the change you wish to see in the world…..Mahatma Ghandi

This is one of my favourite quotes ever! It is so simply stated but so powerful, and  that’s one of the great things we all loved about Ghandi; he was so simplistic in his ideology, but held the power to make the world a better place to be. As I mentioned in my last blog, we are so busy these days that we lose sight of the simple things. We have become a lot more self absorbed in our own self.

I’m no world philosopher or strategist, but I know our world of social media has contributed to limit communication and contributions. It’s a little ironic…..Although social media was meant to open up the channels of communication and expand technology, of which it has, but it has also made us more confined. We may have 500 or more friends on Facebook, but we are more lonely than ever. How often do you see people in restaurants with invisible walls between them? Their phones are more important than their company.

My hope is that we use all this opportunity of advanced communication for spreading positive messages and inspiring positive change. I remember many years ago thinking, “I’m just one person, what can I possibly do to make this world a better place.” I thought it was all too overwhelming to even think about. However, after starting to do public speaking and my TED Talk, I realized how one person can make an impact, and one person can change perspectives. No matter who we are, or what we do, we have the power to influence people in some way. But, we need to realize this before we can achieve this, and just being aware of this is your first step!

We are only as powerful as we believe we are. Realize your worth and do some great things with it, and you will understand how you can be the change you wish to see in the world!

Good Luck and God Bless!
