Get Out of Your Own Way
It is not that easy to say with sincere conviction; ‘I’m just going to have faith that everything will work out…..I will reach my dreams and goals, and just enjoy the journey of getting there’. Our past, along with its conditioned pattern of thinking, simply doesn’t allow us go there. Life typically imprints the notion that ‘its hard to get ahead’. Even if we try, we seem to find roadblocks popping up and getting in the way. Worry about money, time and other daily factors cloud our judgment and question our ability.
So how do we really get to enjoy the journey? Well, I’m still a work in progress, but have made some great strides. I can say for certain that awareness, patience and faith are three imperative components, as well as being grateful for the ‘already’ blessings in our lives. It’s kind of like seeing the cup half full vs. half empty. We all experience some good, bad and ugly,, but I am as sure as anyone could be…..when we decide to focus more on the positive’s, you will begin to see some wonderful changes. Not only see them, but internally begin to shift your paradigm and actually change your thought pattern. You may notice that your goals and desires change too, and even become better ones.
I can’t say enough how important it is to realize we have a choice. No one can choose our thoughts, or our path, except us. If someone else does, then we have let them. As I mentioned it is not easy to change our set patterns, but it is possible if you want to.
Since adapting this philosophy some great things have been unfolding for me, and I was recently asked to be a TEDx Talk Judge for TEDx Chilliwack 2020. I started with a TED Talk, which was on my bucket list, then I became a TED Coach, and now a TED Judge. It’s very exciting, and best of all, I get to…..enjoy the journey.
Good Luck and God Bless you on your journey.
