Outside Beauty Is An Inside Job

I remember when I was a young child and my grandma would often say to me, “Always remember Kimmy, you are only as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside.” Although she explained why this was so important, I didn’t understand until many years later. When we are kind, caring loving people, it represents more than an act; it represents who we are in a very positive fashion. Kind and generous people are happy people and it shows in their demeanour and exterior.

People who are always negative, mean or cynical, always look like the same way as their characteristics.

When you think about people you know who are wonderful human beings, it sends a feel-good response all through your body, and probably brings a smile to your face. And I’m sure the opposite is true when you think about negative or grumpy people you know. I try to focus on the positive people and aspects in life rather than the alternative. As always it’s our choice. Our thoughts and feelings are driven by our beliefs and beliefs are our choice.

However, it’s not always easy to block out the naysayers and unfavourable circumstances, especially if they involve family or someone we work with. I just try to let things go that are out of my control and be grateful I am who I am. Whenever I’m bothered by something or had a bad day, I always remind myself of an experience that brings me great pleasure. This truly helps me stay grounded and brings a more positive response to an outlook.

Sometimes people let negative surroundings pull them in with it all, and can end up joining that uphill battle, but they don’t have to……again….. because it’s our choice.

I hope my husband doesn’t mind me sharing this great example of how much our inner and outer are connected. When I first met Cam we were just friends. I thought he was a very nice and cute guy but only as a friend. Well once I had an insight into how great this guy was, he not only was cute but one of the most handsome guys I ever met! His wonderful personality radiated and shone right through.

You probably can think of some examples like that from your own experiences.

It’s pretty neat how life works and especially when we become keenly aware of our own and others inner beauty!

Good luck and God Bless!
